Dear Colleagues,
The Committee of the CDAA Victorian Division welcomes the opportunity to network with fellow members at the Annual General Meeting to be held as follows:
5.30pm arrival for 6pm to 7.30pm, Thursday 17th February
VECCI offices Level 5 located at
486 Albert Street, East Melbourne.
(NOTE: A FLYER WILL BE DISTRIBUTED FIRST WEEK OF FEBRUARY)
All members of the Association in Victoria are invited to attend this important activity. The National Association has again recorded the highest ever level of membership and the Victoria Division now has over 400 members. The challenge for the new Committee in 2011 will be to build on the range of PD activities delivered last year to meet the diverse needs of its members.
In terms of the current Committee the following have indicated that they will be stepping down this year and on your behalf I would very much like to thank them for their efforts: Tony Crosby and Janice Simpson.
I will nominate for a General position on the committee but declare that the Divisional President position is vacant. Current committee members are: Jahna Pulford, Pamela MacDonald, Meredith Shears, Louise Lee, Julie Korneluk and Louise Walsh who have all agreed to renominate for 2011.
On receipt of this notice you are asked to consider how you might contribute to the ongoing development of the careers profession. Committee information and nomination forms are available at the CDAA website at the links below. One or two new faces would be great to strengthen committee activity. Please note that Nomination forms should be submitted by Friday February 11th to me at the address below.
Registration for this free AGM function is essential and will be available online through www.cdaa.org.au and you are also reminded to bring your Business Card to be eligible for a range of door prizes. This function is again being sponsored by VECCI by providing light refreshments. 2 CPD points are available for attendance.
MENTOR PROGRAM UPDATE
The mentor program for 2011 is well advanced and already there are 12 pairings committed as mentors and mentees. However, there is still time if you would like to participate so if you would like to participate there is an opportunity for 8 more pairings to be confirmed before the end of January. There will also be an opportunity for those participating in the program to catch up at the AGM.

And finally,
At the time of writing we are being faced with tragic forces of nature impacting on Queensland. Sadly there have been fellow colleagues and association members affected by the current flooding, and all we can do as Victorian members is to consider providing financial support through the various Relief funds.
It will no doubt be a very busy year ahead so make the most of the quiet January period and the committee look forward to catching up with you as the year unfolds.
Kind regards
Andrew Rimington
Victorian Divisional President
