Victorian Division Annual General Meeting: February 23rd 2010

Dear Colleagues,

The Committee of the CDAA Victorian Division welcomes the opportunity to network with fellow members at the Annual General Meeting to be held 5.30pm – 7.30pm, Tuesday 23rd February at the VECCI offices located in Industry House, 486 Albert Street, East Melbourne.
All members of the Association in Victoria are invited to attend this important activity. The National Association has just recorded the highest ever level of membership and the Victoria Division now has over 350 members. The challenge for the new Committee for 2010 will be to have a range of PD activities which meet the diverse needs of its members.

In terms of the current Committee the following have indicated that they will be stepping down this year and on your behalf I would very much like to thank them for their efforts: Christine Prendergast, former Vic Div President & currently the national Treasurer; Kaye Nolan, current Secretary; and Arthur Doddrell, current co-ordinator of the Mentor Program.

I will remain for the second year of my appointment as Divisional President and Jahna Pulford, Pamela MacDonald, Meredith Shears and Janice Simpson have all agreed to renominate for 2010. On receipt of this notice you are asked to consider how you might contribute to the ongoing development of the careers profession. Committee information and nomination forms are available at the CDAA website at the links below. One or two new faces would be great to strengthen committee activity. Please note that Nomination forms should be submitted by Friday February 19th to me.

The coming year will be a busy one professionally for us all as the economy continues to improve but a major issue for members will be the move to recoding our own PD activity. This AGM will provide an opportunity for members to not only discuss what type of activities the Victorian division should provide but also include a half hour presentation on CPD to explain the Evolve system which will also include a live web demonstration.

Registration for this free AGM function is essential and will be available online through cdaa.org.au and you are also reminded to bring your Business Card to be eligible for a range of door prizes. This function is again being sponsored by VECCI by providing light refreshments. CPD points are available.
