Defence Force Recruiting Liaison Officer

As a result of CDAA’s ongoing contract with Defence Force Recruiting (DFR), CDAA seeks to appoint a new liaison officer for Northern Queensland.

DFR Liaison Officers are the dedicated contact point between the relevant CDAA Division and local offices of Defence Force Recruiting. In particular their role is to proactively build a strong relationship with local DFR staff through regular and effective contact on behalf of CDAA thus increasing the awareness of Defence Force opportunities in the Division It is expected that each Liaison Officer will develop his or her own program, which will include, but is not limited to, ensuring the following key components of the contract are fulfilled:

  1. That DFR be provided with the opportunity to attend all CDAA Division meetings and to present to members at one meeting annually (at Defence's option)
  2. DFR may (at its option and expense) arrange for CDAA members within each CDAA Division (and their clients if appropriate) to visit Defence facilities and experience Defence operations

Liaison officers will also be required to provide a short report of activities to the CDAA co-ordinators of the contract in April, July and November.

Skills and attributes
The skills and attributes we are looking for includes:

  • Empathy with the ethos of the ADF
  • An awareness of career opportunities available in the ADF
  • Strong relationship building capability
  • Current membership of CDAA
  • Ability to regularly attend Divisional committee meetings

Appointment and honorarium
The appointment of the liaison officers is for the period of January to December 2009.
An honorarium of $1,000 is payable to each liaison officer together with a complimentary registration to the 2009 National Conference to meet with DFR personnel.
