| Queensland Division AGM 2009 and Professional Development |
Dear Qld CDAA members,
I am looking forward to seeing lots of you at next Wednesday evening’s PD event – Col McCowan telling us about his work in Bhutan - and AGM. Don’t forget to register online for catering purposes.
I am writing to invite nominations for our CDAA Qld Division committee and for the positions on the committee. It is always wonderful to have a mix of experienced and new committee members as this enriches the Association and brings new perspectives to decision making. Please consider being an active member of your professional association as part of your own career development, as well as for the fulfillment of knowing that you are making a contribution.
I have informed you that I am unable to remain as President this year due to health reasons. The role of President will therefore be declared vacant at the AGM and will be a casual vacancy for a 12 month period. In addition the positions of Secretary and Treasurer will also become vacant. Thank you to Maria and Ronel for the amazing jobs they have both done. Other things have cropped up in their lives that will prevent them from taking on these roles in the coming year. I’d love to hear from others who feel that they are ready, willing and able to step up to the mark and take on one of these roles. The committee positions are outlined below and the nomination form is attached.
Many thanks for your continued support and I look forward to seeing you at the meeting on Wednesday 11th March at 7pm, preceded by the networking at 5.30pm and PD event commencing at 6pm.
Kind regards,
Jenni

Bhutan, the Land of the Thunder Dragon, is no ordinary place. This is a country where buying cigarettes is illegal, where the rice is red and where chilies aren’t just a seasoning but the entire dish. It’s also a deeply Buddhist land, where men wear a tunic to work, where giant protective penises are painted on the walls of most houses, and where Gross National Happiness is deemed more important than Gross National Product. www.lonelyplanet.com/bhutan
