Resources for starting and building a small business

Are you running your own business, considering establishing yourself in business or facing clients looking for support around small business decisions? Then there’ll be something for you in this breakfast seminar.

The presentation will provide high level and practical information on topical business issues, as well as providing a treasure map to business resources available for little or no cost.

Topics include:

The Start-Up:

  • Critical questions to ask yourself before taking the plunge,
  • Navigating the legal minefield with confidence without breaking the bank
  • Business planning for dummies, optimists and counsellors!

Beyond Survival:

  • Marketing on a small business budget.
  • Using benchmarking as a tool for assessing your business.
  • How to decide where to focus for the biggest bang for your buck!

CDAA Business Forum:

  • Review specific concerns of CDAA members in today’s business environment.
  • An opportunity to air your business issues and share what works for you.

This presentation will address the specific CDAA competencies of Information and Resource Management and Professional Practice.

Presenter: Daniel Boland

Daniel Boland is the Sydney Business Advisory Service Manager.
He works with the Business Enterprise Centre in Central Sydney funded
under contract by NSW State & Regional Development, a non profit
social enterprise with a voluntary community board.
He shares his extensive knowledge with enthusiasm and a flair for practical advice tempered by a wealth of hands-on experience working in and on building successful small businesses.


The focus of his facilitation and training expertise is:

  • Providing confidential small business advice to start-ups and
  • Mentoring to existing clients taking them beyond survival to success.

Refund Policy:
