Cairns 2011 - Another great conference!

The conference began on Tuesday evening with a vibrant and challenging panel discussion facilitated by by one of Australia’s leading journalists, Ellen Fanning. The discussion set the scene for the conference as delegates and presenters began to explore the questions that the event posed: What is the essence? Whom do we serve? Are we on task? Are we up to it? How do we know?

Following four days of intensive presentations, workshops, and a little partying, Mark Savickas gave a keynote that will be talked about for years to come. In the closing session he deftly pulled together all the key contributions from conference and delivered an elegant summation. Keep an eye on the website and the e-bulletin as copies of presentations are released over coming weeks.

A big thanks goes to the Queensland Committee, and a special thanks to the Conference Conveners, Col McCowan and Mary McMahon, for the fantastic effort that they all made in hosting the event.

You will also select to attend five, 40-minute sessions from those on offer.  The sessions will be presented by New Zealand career researchers who will discuss their research and examine the application of it to career practice.

You do not need to be an expert on research methodology.  Presentations will be non-technical and will emphasise how findings from research enhance career practice.
