Come back to Cairns as the Conference presentations go online

The first of the presentation material from the 2011 Cairns Conference has been uploaded to the CDAA website. It includes many of the powerpoint presentations from the workshops and research strands.

The highlight is the inclusion of an audio recording of Mark Savickas' outstanding summation address, complete with slides. Audio recordings of the other keynotes will be added over the coming weeks.

DEEWR Scholarships close on 8th July

The DEEWR Scholarships for Career Advisers program has been extended to include a 2012 round. Applications are now open and will close 8 July 2011.

The Industry Placement Scholarships provide $10,000 to enable a short-term industry placement to further successful applicants’ skills or knowledge of workplaces, industry sectors and/or occupations. The Study Scholarships provide $5,000 for successful applicants to undertake post graduate study in the career education field in 2011.

Both types of scholarships are available to career advisers/practitioners at Australian schools, TAFEs and universities.

There are a small number of scholarships available for career advisers who are employed by other organisations providing career advice to or assisting young people with their transitions (for example Career Information Centres are therefore eligible to apply).
