CDAA enters agreement with the Australian Counselling Association

The CDAA has entered an agreement with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA) which will see both associations working together from 2010 on a range of initiatives including:

  • promotion of each other’s Association’s conferences and professional development events
  • members discounts to each others’ professional development events (excluding the CDAA national conference)
  • sharing of news and practitioner resources
  • collaboration on joint submissions for funding and advocacy

The ACA and CDAA are national professional associations for counsellors and career development practitioner respectively. We are each committed to promoting strong professional standards for practitioners and best practice in their respective fields. More news about this agreement will be provided in future e-bulletins.

2010 Kerrie Nairn Scholarship in Public Speaking

Applications are now open for the 2010 Kerrie Nairn Scholarship in Public Speaking and invite you to alert your members to this opportunity. Applications close on Friday 22 January 2010.

The Scholarship assists a promising public speaker to personally and professionally develop as a speaker and become an outstanding professional leader in their field. The Scholar also assists Australian students develop their public speaking skills through youth-based activities.

Now in its fifth year the Scholarship provides over $10,000 monetary support to fund course fees, travel costs, coaching and study tours. The Scholar is provided with an experienced mentor and receives free attendance at NSAA’s Speakers Academy.

The Scholarship is open to emerging public speakers who are working part-time or full-time as a speaker and who have demonstrated potential and experience to become a speaking industry leader.

The Scholarship was established in the memory of NSAA member Kerrie Nairn – a professional speaker known for her commitment and dedication to the craft of public speaking.

The Scholarship is funded through the Quality Outcomes Program which is administered by the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations. NSAA facilitates the Scholarship.
