Professional Standards Transition to 2012

The CDAA, as a member of the Career Industry Council of Australia, is required to implement the Professional Standards for Career Development Practitioners by January, 2012.

CDAA fully supports the professional standards and will commence implementation of changes to requirements for new members from next year. It is particularly important for existing members to note that they will continue to retain their membership after 2012, provided they meet continuing professional development requirements and, of course, work in accordance with CDAA’s Code of Ethics.

Between now and 2012 the requirements for new Professional and Associate members joining the CDAA will change. Details on the new requirements and timeframes can be found at on the website at: http://www.cdaa.org.au/content/president-message-members

Help Test the New My Guide

As may be aware, myfuture are making significant progress toward the completion of the My Guide enhancements. An important element of this project is the integration of an Image based version of the Career Interest Test. myfuture are looking for experienced career practitioners to help test the new myfuture website. 600 people are needed to complete the test in the first 2 weeks of September, 2009.

The process will be simple for users. They will be sent a URL that allows access to a testing environment, and asked to complete the Interest test.  They will not be required to answer additional questions or make comment about the images.  A small group of randomly selected users will be asked to complete the test again, and another sample group will be asked to complete the text version of the test for comparative purposes.  The results will be analysed by James Athanasou to determine the validity and reliability of the results, once the images have been applied to support the questionnaires.

Any career practitioners who would be willing to support the testing are asked to contact Rebecca at myfuture on ph 83343261 (Mon, Tues and Thurs) by 31 August.
