From CDAA’s new National President

Dear colleagues,

I am honoured to have been elected National President of CDAA and it is with much anticipation that I will lead our new National Executive team through the next phase of CDAA's evolution. Building on important recent changes in branding, communications and governance, CDAA will focus on marketing the benefits or professional career development practice, growing its membership and range of member benefits, expanding the national office and forging stronger strategic relationships with community, government and industry.

A special thank you to Dr Peter Carey for his extraordinary commitment as President over the past four years and his ongoing support to me and our Board as Immediate Past President.

It is of course true that an Association is only as strong as its members and I look forward to meeting as many of you as possible in the coming two years and welcome your support, thoughts and contributions as together we build the next phase of CDAA.

Best wishes
Carole Brown, FCDAA

Policy forum, Young people: Finding their way in a new era

The National Centre for Vocational Education Research (NCVER) and the Australian Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations will present a policy forum on 10th November.

This event brings together new research to throw light on the issues that really matter. Drawing on findings from a range of research using data from the Longitudinal Surveys of Australian Youth (LSAY), the event will seek to inform policy makers on how they can improve education outcomes for young people, provide them with skills for the contemporary labour market, as well as ensure that they lead full and meaningful lives.

Those with an interest in youth transitions policy from all sectors of government, the-not-for-profit sector, all education sectors, career advisors, peak youth bodies and the social and community sectors will not want to miss this event.
