ACT Division – Professional Development
and end-of-year celebration
Outline of the program:
Join colleagues, new and old, for ACT Division’s final event for 2008! We invite you to enjoy
great food, wine and company and participate in some stimulating professional development.
In this workshop, Carole Brown, CDAA’s National Vice-President, will speak about her
experience of the 2008 National Career Development Association conference held earlier
this year in Washington DC as well as the International Public Policy Symposium which
preceded it. Thoughts about the changing environment impacting upon our profession
together with the consequent challenges for practitioners across Australia and internationally
will be shared. Discussion around these big picture issues will be balanced by a practical
introduction to some engaging exercises from the NCDA conference (the pre-eminent event
for the career development profession in the US) that practitioners in all settings can use
with their clients.
