At the June PD seminar Ann Villers suggested an idea for a practical ebook that members can give free of charge to clients and colleagues to help with their career management. The ebook can also be placed on web sites to promote the value of CDAA and help people understand what career practitioners do.
Ann prepared a template for use. The ebook will be a compilation of articles offering practical information, in a PDF format.
If you would like to contribute to the ebook, here are the details:
- You need to belong to CDAA, preferably ACT Division.
- Write a one page article using the template which you can find at http://www.cdaa.org.au/home_act
- Do not change the formatting, nor go over one page.
- Including a photo is optional.
- The yellow box is there to include something about you.
- The deadline to submit the article is Friday 22 August 2008.
- The ebook will be compiled based on the order articles are received.
- I will include information about CDAA.
- You will have an opportunity to review the final version before I send the final PDF file.
- If you are not familiar with ebooks, you can visit http://www.selectioncriteria.com.au/free-ebooks.html.
- The suggested title is: Managing your career: Tips from career development practitioners.
- Suggestions are welcome.
What to write about?
The articles need to be practical and specific. They could be about job searching, resumes, transition or self-help tools.
The ebook is targeted at our service users - school leavers, graduates, parents, people in transition, applicants etc. Not at other career practitioners, recruiters, service providers.
If you are working on a piece please let Ann know to expect it.
